Better grid decisions start with better visibility

Electric vehicles, solar, batteries, and new industrial loads are changing where and when electricity is used. These changes can be highly local, which makes historical planning assumptions less useful.

We combine meter data, operational data, and modelling to build a clearer picture of how the grid is being used. That can help identify capacity constraints, estimate where new loads and distributed resources are emerging, and provide better input before reinforcement decisions are made.

For operations, we connect new data sources, flexible resources, and decision-support tools with established environments such as SCADA. The goal is not to replace robust systems for the sake of it, but to add the information and workflows needed for a more dynamic grid.

Challenges
  • Understanding how demand and distributed resources are changing across the grid
  • Planning capacity with incomplete or fragmented data
  • Identifying where new loads and flexible resources are emerging
  • Connecting operational, metering, and planning systems
  • Introducing new operational workflows alongside established SCADA environments
Opportunities
  • Improve visibility into grid conditions and consumption patterns
  • Plan capacity using measured and modelled data
  • Identify emerging loads and distributed energy resources
  • Connect flexible resources to grid operations
  • Give operators better decision support alongside existing systems
